DESIGN METHODS
+ Worked with Mid-West Metal Products to laser cut 1/4" sheet metal into the bench forms with tab and slot construction
+ Used a CNC mill at Ball State University to create curved wood boards
+ Processed thermally modified wood boards to create the bench top
+ Welded together sheet metal pieces using a MIG welder

COURSE OBJECTIVE
To enhance the East Central neighborhood in Muncie, students in this course developed several community projects. This bench sits in a small orchard that hosts small events and gives passersby a small bit of relaxation. With the modular design, future benches can display different insignias, and the amount of seats can be reduced or expanded from the originally designed three seater.
